Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need to buy the materials?

No. To ensure the 2-year craftsmanship warranty, I provide all professional-grade cleaners, primers, stains, and finishes. I use specific trade-only products that aren't available at big-box hardware stores.

2. How long will the project take?

Doors: Typically 1-3 days.

Cabinetry: 10-14 days depending on the size of the kitchen.

Limewash: 2-4 days depending on weather and house size.

Note: I maintain a clean workspace and ensure your home remains functional during the process.

3. Why Limewash instead of just painting my brick?

Standard latex paint traps moisture inside the brick, which can lead to peeling and even structural damage over time. Limewash is a mineral finish that actually "petrifies" to the brick. It is breathable, naturally antimicrobial, and will never peel. It ages beautifully, giving your home an "Old World" look that standard paint can't replicate.

4. Is "Hand-Painted" better than "Sprayed" for my cabinets?

Spraying is great for new construction, but for a lived-in home, hand-painting offers a more durable, "artisan" look. It allows for better material penetration into the wood grain and makes future touch-ups invisible. My technique ensures a smooth, furniture-grade finish without the "plastic" look of a factory spray.

5. Will the gel stain on my door peel or fade in the Illinois sun?

No. Unlike standard DIY stains, I use professional-grade architectural gel stains topped with a high-solids, UV- resistant clear coat. This creates a "marine-grade" barrier that handles the expansion and contraction of steel and fiberglass through our 90°F summers and sub-zero winters.

6. Why is your price higher than a standard painter?

Standard painters focus on "coverage"- getting color on a wall quickly. As an Architectural Finisher, I focus on bonding and aesthetics. My process involves specialty materials like industrial gel stains and mineral-based limewash that require artistic technique. You aren't just paying for paint; you're paying for a custom-applied finish that mimics high- end materials like walnut or aged masonry.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and skillful execution.
